1. FOMO: Fear of missing out.

When you go on a long-term desired trip especially if your destination is far away from your home, it’s possible that you fear that you might not return there at least sooner. That’s why your brain will trick you into thinking that you’ll be missing anything you could do or buy in that country and you don’t.

At this moment, try to take your time and logically guess whether this activity or object will matter to you after you leave that country, and then decide if you pay for it or just put it aside.

2. Limited time and access

This is another form of FOMO if you know that you have a limited time before you leave the place you traveled to, which leads you to feel that ‘’the more you spend, the more experience you will get out of this place ‘’.

And this is not accurate, that’s why you should look for the quality of the experience before just filling your time and emptying your pocket.

3. Lack of planning and convenience

Even when you want to be spontaneous, it’s always good to have some information about the basic movements you will make on your trip.

Transportation is a very important example of convenience. This is something that is only about mobility, which means it will just lose its importance in the moment you make it.

I advise you that you search or ask the locals about the public transportation in whichever country you are in. Instead of paying for taxis for every move you make, you could save a lot using the local transportation, and thank yourself later!

4. ‘’Escapism’’ mindset

So many of us find escapism in our vacation and want to get away from our current routine, let it be work, studies, or anything else. That’s why all you will think about in this moment is treating yourself as much as you feel not well treated in your everyday life. This is normal and you deserve it.

My advice to you is don’t lose your mind and spend all that you have, again, have a brief wide look at your whole situation and only spend on what you really like.

5. Social media pressure and fake Luxury

I think this issue is familiar nowadays for many of us. Don’t get deceived by all that you see on social media. In fact, not everyone who travels may want to have high luxury experiences. I’m writing this for the people who travel to explore and learn about the world.

Be confident, and have control over your own reality and goals. If you don’t feel attracted or comfortable about paying much money for things you can’t see or feel their worth, just don’t !
